Position Description: Drafter
Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer
Job Summary:
- The Drafter Converts engineering concepts into detailed technical drawing , blueprints , and 3D models using CAD software.
- Prepare documentation for Manufacturing.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Interpret engineering drawings, and specifications for machines and components.
- Must be proficient in Solidworks and AutoCAD or similar software.
- Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations.
- Develop and prepare engineering drawings, plans, diagrams, or layouts from sketches.
- Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections on machined components.
- Perform some in-process inspections where the part is still on the machine.
- Detect and control nonconforming product.
- Organize and maintain quality records.
Education and Training Requirements:
- Strong PC skills in AutoCAD, Solidworks and MS Office
- Must be able to use or learn to use OD ring gauges, thread lead and profile gauges, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measuring equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field.
