Nationwide Centrifuge Repair Services | Sentrimax

Sentrimax provides centrifuge repair across the USA and Canada from three physical facilities – Mansfield, Texas; Edmonton, Alberta; and Kitchener, Ontario – rather than a nationwide branch network. Decanter, tricanter and disc stack centrifuges are received, inspected, repaired and balanced at whichever shop is handling the job, then shipped back through a dedicated broker.

Three Shops, Not a Franchise Model

Sentrimax is an independent centrifuge MRO provider founded in 2002, and it covers the
United States and Canada from three facilities rather than a network of local branches:

Mansfield, TX, USA
108 Sentry Dr, Mansfield, TX 76063 – 817-453-8112
Edmonton, AB, Canada
9440 60 Ave, Edmonton, AB T6E 0C1 – 780-434-1781
Kitchener, ON, Canada
2300 Shirley Dr, Unit 3, Kitchener, ON N2B 3Y2 – 877-741-0118

That is a deliberate structure, not a limitation to work around. A centrifuge rebuild
depends on machine tools, balancing equipment, and a documented inspection process being in
one place and applied consistently – it does not depend on a technician living near the
plant. Sentrimax’s model concentrates that capability into three fully equipped shops and
moves the machine to the capability, rather than spreading a thinner version of that
capability across dozens of storefronts.

How a Machine Actually Gets There and Back

Equipment ships to whichever of the three facilities is best positioned to take the job,
using Sentrimax’s dedicated broker network for both inbound and outbound freight. On
delivery, the invoice includes a detailed report of all parts, labor and other completed
analyses, along with shipping confirmation and tracking, so a plant is not left guessing
where its machine is in transit or what the final scope of work covered.

The same documented process runs at every facility regardless of which one receives a
given machine:

  1. Inspection and quote. The centrifuge is documented and ID-tagged,
disassembled, steam-cleaned and inspected. A licensed technician completes a 75-point
inspection, measures every critical fit, and an oil sample is sent for third-party analysis.
A quotation package – inspection report, scope of work, required parts, photos, pricing and
an estimated delivery time – goes back to the customer for approval.
  2. Repair. Once approved, parts are assembled to meet or exceed OEM
specifications, welding and machining are completed to OEM tolerances, and the rotating
assembly is balanced to ISO G 0.5 and reassembled.
  3. Quality control and test run. A technician completes a detailed
post-repair inspection, then a full test run including a performance report confirms the
    machine is ready to ship.
  4. Delivery. The unit moves back through the broker network with full
    documentation and tracking.

Field Service and Remote Support Between Shop Visits

Not every problem requires shipping a centrifuge across the continent. Sentrimax field
service technicians travel for inspections, troubleshooting and certain repairs that do not
require the shop’s machine tools or balancing equipment, and remote services are available
for control and drive issues – PLC and HMI faults, VFD troubleshooting – that can sometimes
be diagnosed without a site visit at all. Deciding between a field visit and a full shop trip
usually comes down to whether the rotating assembly itself needs to be opened, measured and
balanced, or whether the fault sits in the controls, drive or mounting.

Situation Typical path
Bowl or scroll wear, vibration, bearing failure Full teardown at a Sentrimax facility
VFD fault, PLC or HMI issue, coupling misalignment Field service visit or remote diagnostic support
Gearbox noise or torque loss Field inspection first, shop repair if internal wear is confirmed
Need to keep a line running during a rebuild Rental centrifuge while the primary unit is in the shop

What Every Job Includes, Wherever It Ships From

  • Fit evaluation before any repair work is quoted
  • Detailed, annotated inspection report
  • Dynamic balancing to ISO G 0.5
  • Full test run and performance report before shipment
  • ISO 9001:2015-documented process at every facility

Sentrimax also offers rentals, parts, and new or refurbished equipment sales across all
three facilities, which matters for plants weighing a rebuild against replacing an aging
machine outright, or that simply need a unit running while their own is in transit. English,
French and Spanish-speaking representatives are available to help coordinate which facility
should receive a given machine and what documentation to send ahead of shipment.

Why the three-facility model holds up

Concentrating
inspection, machining and balancing capability into three fully equipped shops means the
same 75-point inspection, the same ISO G 0.5 balancing standard, and the same documented
quotation process apply no matter which facility a machine ships to – consistency that a
thin network of local branches would struggle to match.

Engineering and Parts Capability at Every Facility

Because Sentrimax is not chasing a nationwide branch footprint, the investment goes into
depth at three locations rather than breadth across many. Each facility carries engineering
services and machine shop capability – milling, lathe-turning, precision-grinding, and the
ability to design new or reverse-engineered parts when an original component is no longer
available. Gearbox repair covers planetary two- and three-stage units, CYCLO gearboxes and
hydraulic backdrives. Welding and fabrication includes MIG, TIG and laser welding, brazing,
HVOF coatings and hard surfacing for abrasive-service components. Controls work spans PLC
upgrades and programming, HMI design, VFD troubleshooting and replacement, and brake system
integration, backed by ETL-certified control panel and automation support.

That same depth extends to mobilization. Sentrimax builds trailer-mounted and
skid-mounted centrifuge packages, along with custom Sea-Can and CONEX container layouts and
solids conveyors, for operators who need a machine deployed temporarily or permanently in a
configuration engineered for the site rather than sold off a shelf. A plant in any region of
the USA or Canada can access that same mobilization engineering, not just plants near one
particular facility.

Industries Covered Across the Network

The three-facility model supports a wide industrial base rather than a narrow specialty.
Sentrimax’s centrifuges run in municipal water and wastewater treatment, environmental
services, general dewatering applications, energy and utilities work including drilling
fluids and produced water, food and beverage processing, mining, biotech and pharmaceuticals,
chemicals, general manufacturing, recycling, pulp and paper, and agriculture. A decanter,
tricanter or disc stack unit from any of those industries follows the same inspection and
repair process once it reaches a Sentrimax facility, which is part of why the company can
support such a broad customer base from just three locations instead of needing a
specialized branch for each vertical.

Brands and Equipment Covered

Sentrimax services decanter, tricanter and disc stack centrifuges from 8 to 43 inches of
bowl diameter, across major brands including Sharples, Flottweg, Centrisys, Derrick, GEA,
Alfa Laval, Tomoe, Andritz, Bird and Pieralisi, among others. Sentrimax is an independent
provider and is not authorized, certified or partnered by any of these manufacturers –
brand names describe the equipment serviced, not an affiliation. For plants dealing with a
specific mechanical symptom rather than deciding where to ship a machine, the
centrifuge troubleshooting resource is a better
starting point than a location page. For the full regional breakdown of how the three
facilities divide coverage across North America, see the
centrifuge service areas page.

Deciding Between Repair, Rental and Replacement

A nationwide network only matters if it helps a plant make a better decision than “ship it
somewhere and hope.” Sentrimax’s inspection report is built to support that decision: the
75-point inspection, measured precision fits, oil sample results and annotated photographs
give a plant enough information to weigh a repair against buying new or refurbished
equipment, rather than committing to a rebuild before knowing what is actually wrong. Where
the numbers do not favor a rebuild, Sentrimax also sells new and refurbished centrifuges and
ancillary equipment, including gearboxes and electrical components, so the same inspection
that would have scoped a repair can instead scope a replacement.

Rentals fill the gap in between. A plant that needs to keep a line running while its own
unit is being evaluated, repaired, or replaced can arrange a rental centrifuge rather than
idling a process entirely. This is available regardless of which of the three facilities is
handling the primary machine, since rental logistics run through the same broker network as
repair shipments.

Quality Documentation That Travels With the Machine

A centrifuge that changes hands – sold, leased, or moved between plants within the same
company – carries more value when its service history is documented. Every Sentrimax
repair produces a paper trail: the original inspection report, the approved scope of work,
the parts and labor invoice, and the post-repair performance report from the test run. Over
several service cycles, that documentation becomes a maintenance history a plant’s
reliability team can use to decide when a unit has moved from “worth repairing” to “worth
replacing,” independent of which Sentrimax facility performed any individual job.

Start With the Machine, Not the Map

The most useful first step for a plant anywhere in the USA or Canada is describing the
symptom and the equipment, not deciding in advance which Sentrimax facility should handle
it. Sentrimax’s team routes the machine to the right shop and confirms the process, the scope
and the documentation from there.

Frequently asked questions

Does Sentrimax have a facility in every state or province?

No. Sentrimax operates three facilities – Mansfield, Texas; Edmonton, Alberta; and Kitchener, Ontario – and serves the rest of the USA and Canada by shipping equipment to whichever shop is handling the job, using its dedicated broker network for freight.

How do I know which Sentrimax facility should receive my centrifuge?

Contact Sentrimax with the equipment details and location, and the team will route the machine to the facility handling that workload. You do not need to determine this yourself before reaching out.

Is field service available if I am not near one of the three facilities?

Yes. Sentrimax field service technicians travel for inspections and certain repairs, and remote services can address some control and drive issues without a site visit. A full teardown, balancing or major parts fabrication still requires a shop visit.

What happens to my machine while it is in transit?

Equipment moves through Sentrimax's dedicated broker network with shipping confirmation and tracking. The final invoice includes a detailed report of all parts, labor and analyses completed during the repair.

Is the repair process different depending on which facility does the work?

No. All three facilities follow the same ISO 9001:2015-documented three-stage process: inspection and quote, repair with ISO G 0.5 balancing, and delivery with full documentation, regardless of which shop receives the machine.

Can Sentrimax provide a rental unit while my equipment is being repaired at one of its facilities?

Yes. Sentrimax offers rental centrifuges to help keep operations running during a repair, overhaul or period of peak demand, available to customers across the USA and Canada.
